Interested in making new friends and learning something new in the process? Well then SurgSoc could be the society for you! This society welcomes any student with an interest in surgery and a desire to learn practical surgical skills.

Not only will you have the opportunity to put stitches in pig trotters and practice putting plaster casts on your friends, SurgSoc also allows students to get hands on experience of suturing, laparoscopy and diathermy with the guidance of experienced surgeons.

No other UCC Society will have you cutting steaks with a diathermic knife, doing tendon repairs and much more!

We run these practical sessions throughout the year. They are a great opportunity to meet the older years and to have fun!

We are looking forward to meeting you at societies’ day and at our many events held throughout the year. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have, we are always happy to help.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming events in your email or join us on Facebook at Ucc SurgSoc Cork and Twitter @SurgSoc_UCC. You never know when those suturing skills will come in handy!

First Event: Suturing Session, 17th Sept. 6pm – Brookfield 1.02 & 1.05
